About the Borough of Florham Park:
Florham Park, originally known as Broomtown, was first settled by colonists around 1680. When the granddaughter of America's richest citizen, Cornelius Vanderbilt, moved to the area in 1887, she named her 840-acre estate "Florham," a combination of her name, Florence, and her husband's, Hamilton. Florham Park became a borough in 1899.
Florham Park is probably best known as the training center for the New York Jets -- it is also the location of BASF, the world's largest chemical corporation.
