Dear Future Owner,

We are so happy you are considering this house as a future home! For us, it was our happy place that we truly loved and cared for. My husband and I came from Switzerland in 2002 with three small kids, and we made it our home for 18 years. It was the best decision we ever made. For all these years, we lived, laughed and raised a happy family here. I am an Energy Healer and did much of my work here, so, the house is definitely filled with good vibes! ;)

What drew us in at the time to choose this house over the other 35 ones we looked at, was its beautiful light flooding in through the high windows, and the open, airy flow. It gave as a warm feeling from the beginning and, after 18 years, it still does. This home always made it easy for us to feel connected here as a family, while everyone had enough space to spread out and have their privacy as well.

When the cold Northeast winters got to me, my husband designed and customized the unfinished basement into a unique retreat and spa that kept us cozy and where we could relax after a long day of work. And since the kids were more into fun than relaxation and wanted to bring their friends, we created an entertainment hub with surround-sound and a game room where we played pool and watched movies together. Family nights we will never forget.

For our many visitors from Europe, this oasis doubled as a guest suite for weeks at a time. Our guests thought they were in heaven when they used the spa's rainfall- or massage showers in the mornings.

The spacious garden served as playing field for our kids with soccer in the summer and sledding in the winter. And for me, with love for gardening and everything that grows, it served as a canvas that I filled with flowering bushes and perennials, so something is always blossoming somewhere. I wished you could see the gorgeous dogwood tree in full bloom in May, framing the patio with a pink canopy. If you choose this house, you will. And you will, like us, sit on the Adirondack chairs around the firepit we left for you to enjoy roasting marshmallows with your kids or grandkids, or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening on the little bench, overlooking the pond and watching wildlife in the distance.

While we chose Chester originally because of its excellent schools with International Baccalaureate program, little did we know at the time that we actually hit the jackpot not only with the town, but also with this particular neighborhood.

Let me tell you, if you move to Chester from anywhere, Shadow Ridge is the place to be! For one, you can walk to EVERYTHING Chester has to offer: Little cafes, great restaurants, quaint shops and ice cream parlors, Grove Street Park with playgrounds and tennis courts and the many events like concerts in the park, Santa's visit at the gazebo and crafts fairs. But what hits it out of the park is the community of this neighborhood. It truly is like no other. From the day we moved in, we were welcomed with open arms to neighborhood playgroups and block parties on the green, women's breakfasts, Halloween parades and Christmas luminaries and caroling. This connected and engaging community made us feel right at home with neighbors who became friends.

We have truly loved this home every day that we lived here and hope you will enjoy it just as much as we did.
